MARCoNS

Welp, I went and disappeared again.  Sorry about that! Turns out I have MARCoNS. Add it to the list, amirite?! So, I had to start another new medication, this time in the form of a nasal spray, and it has totally beaten the crap out of me.  Like feel like I have the flu… sore throat, achy body, swollen lymph nodes, the works.  The herx is REAL.  That must mean its working, yeah? Fingers crossed.

For those of you that do not know what MARCoNS is, it stands for Multiple Antibiotic Resistant Coagulase Negative Staphylococci. Say that ten times fast. Basically, it is a staph infection in the nasal passage that affects 80% of people with low MSH (Melanocyte- Stimulating Hormone).  Aaaand most people with chronic inflammatory diseases (like Lyme) usually have low MSH.  So now I am on a BEG nasal spray, which comes from a special compounding pharmacy in California.  It burns like a mother, but everything I have read tells me that should go away in a couple of days.  I am by no means a doctor, but I have learned a LOT about MARCoNS through my own research.  If you’re interested, feel free to check out the links below.  I am not endorsing any of them, and I by no means get any sort of kick-back from them.  They just helped me understand what the heck is going on in my body.

In other news, I leave for treatment in one month!!! I cannot WAIT!  I just know that it is going to be everything my body, mind, and soul needs to heal.  I will make sure to be documenting my journey as I go! I hope to be writing some fun stuff for you guys soon!  We have a LOT going on in our house right now that I need to share with you all.  Hopefully in a few days my body will be used to this BEG spray and I’ll be back to my spunky self.  Until then, enjoy the literature on MARCoNs (insert crying laughing emoji here).
